TERMS
| Browsers | Not an insurance term, but the type of software tools used to access the Internet. |

| Certificate | The document you receive upon paying the insurance premium. Also called the "Vacation Insurance Passport", this document contains the salient terms and provisions of the insurance coverage provided. |
| Death | In connection with Cancellation Insurance, the term means death resulting from "Injury" or "Sickness" as defined herein. Wherever used in connection with Accidental Death/Dismemberment, the term means death resulting from "Injury". |
| Economy Flight Fare | The lowest one-way single seat fare of any ATC or IATA Air Carrier. |
| Eligible Person | A permanent resident of Canada or the United States under 76 years of age. |
| Hospital | A duly licensed hospital with facilities to accommodate inpatient care with a registered nurse on a full-time duty basis, a laboratory, and an operating room where surgical operations are performed by a qualified surgeon. Not included are convalescent homes, rest homes, nursing homes, homes for the aged, drug & alcohol treatment centers, health spas or clinics. |
| Host at Destination | The person with whom you are sharing pre-arranged overnight accommodation in his/her principal place of residence. |
| Immediate Family Member | The legal or common-law spouse, son or daughter (adopted, step or in-law), brother or sister (includes step or in-law), parent (includes step or in-law), grandparent, or grandchild who are residents of Canada or the USA. |
| Injury | Bodily injury caused by an accident occurring while the policy is in force, resulting directly and independently of all other causes in loss covered by this policy. |
| Insured | A person who is eligible for the insurance applied for and who has paid the full premium required in advance. |
| Insurance Passport | The document you receive upon paying the insurance premium. Also called the "Insurance Certificate", this document contains the main terms and provisions of the insurance coverage. |
| Loss | Loss, in connection with Cancellation Insurance, means the amount of money paid to or due Winter Sport Vacations for transportation, lodging, lift tickets, green fees, etc. |
| Physician | Any person, other than the insured or any member of his or her immediate family (see "Family Members" in this glossary), who is a practitioner of the healing arts whose legal and professional standing within his jurisdiction is equivalent to a doctor of medicine (M.D.) duly licensed to practice in any province of Canada or state of the U.S.A. |
| Pre-existing Condition | An injury or sickness existing prior to the effective date of the applicable insurance coverage. |
| Sickness | Sickness or disease contracted and commencing while the policy is in force. |
| Traveling Companion | The person(s) named on the Winter Sport Vacations invoice with whom the Insured is sharing travel arrangements during the entire insured trip, up to 4 persons including the Insured. |
| You and Your | The insured person. |
